About me
Although this blog is about how universal design is informing educational technology integration in Maine (i.e., ME), the “me” who is doing the blogging is myself, Cynthia Curry. I’m a former middle and high school science teacher and have been working with the MLTI for several years. My first MLTI project, funded by Unum, was to roam the state, spreading the word of universal design to middle school teachers who were pioneering 1:1 computing in Maine. I’m continuing to provide universal design education and awareness, as well as participating in other MLTI professional development offerings for middle and high school teachers and administrators.
Additional projects that I work on include the acquisition of accessible instructional materials in Maine and Vermont, supporting higher education faculty in improving curriculum for all students, and supporting schools in appropriate and effective use of assistive technologies.
I live in Portland with my husband, Craig Hemond, our two youngsters, a pair of cats, and a menagerie of tropical fish.
I’d love to hear from you.
